I am deeply saddened by the news of Leland's passing. I remember him well from Mount Hebron and MHS. He was a wonderful person, and I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

This is sad news. I remember Leland from Mt. Hebron. He was a good athlete and the fastest runner in our class. He was also a nice guy who came to a birthday party I had long ago. Unfortunately-time marches inexorably onward. My warm regards go out to his family.

I also remember Leland from Mt. Hebron...and the Fusco Phillies Little League team (I played on the Commonwealth Cardinals, and I don't think we ever beat Leland's team, or too many other teams as I recall...but we did get to ride on top of a WWII tank at the 4th of July Parade near Edgemont Park the tracks of which I remember pretty much destroyed the street.) Leland was probably the best athlete in our class at Mt. Hebron, and although it sounds cliche, it seems he was always wearing a smile.  He was an easy-going and genuiniely kind person. My very best to his family and friends.

I also knew Leland at Mt. Hebron and high school.  Everyone is right, a good athlete, quiet, but always a gentle smile. Don & I attended Chris & Lelands 25th wedding anniversary, a very memorable time for me.  Even though I knew Leland was challenged with health issues, learning of his passing was hard to read.  My love and deepest sympathy to their entire family.  Another great loss to our class this year.  Karen

My most vivid memory of Leland is I couldn't tackle him in the open field in junior high school pick up football games. Convinced me to take up tennis. He was a great guy who will be dearly missed.

Forgot to mention - For anyone who would like to see a great picture of Leland from Third Grade (I think it was that year...Miss Lurich's class) at Mt. Hebron, you can go to my Classmate Profiles page and click on the "Then" pic. It will be obvious, but Leland is the cute kid with a big smile in Row 2, 3rd in from the right, wearing a Davy Crockett shirt : >).

Growing up across from Edgemont Park I spent many hours ice skating on the pond where Leland' s father was in charge of the skate house--Most of my memories of Leland are associated with him (and Paul) being there helping "Joe."  He was a friendly, fun loving guy, always smiling and he will be missed.
