I am saddened by Sue Hoffman's passing. After my move to Montclair in October of 1958, she was the first girl to invite me to her home after school. We danced to songs on American Bandstand and then she told me about Charlie Daviet's cigarette lighter. I did not have one, and so my crush was crushed, but I always recalled her smile when Dick Clark did his New Year's Eve show.

So sad to hear of Susan's passing.  She will be missed.  I remember she had a  bubbly smile which was contagious.

From 1st thru 12th, Susan & I seemed to be in the same class.... Or had at least one class together after Watchung School.  When the Eisenhower inauguration was televised, I remember Mrs Dericks arranging for each of us who had no TV yet, to go home for lunch with someone who did, so we could watch.  I went home with Susan that day.  We remained friends for years.  I am shocked to hear she is no longer with us.
