Steve was a solid and loyal friend all through high school. When my best friend was not available for my first wedding to Mimi Stevens, Steve stood in for me as my best man.
We didn't see each other much over the years, but the last time I saw him 6 or 7 years ago, he seemed happy, and at peace with his life.
I was greatly saddened to hear that he had taken his own life. Apparently the pain from stage 4 cancer made it unbearable for him to continue. A tough choice, but I hope he found peace.
